            @atlefren Alt-tekst, pl0x? 🙂

            Picture of a Calvin and Hobbes comic strip. The dialogue goes as follows:

            Dad: It used to be that if a client wanted something done in a week, it was considered a rush job, and hed be lucky to get it.

            Dad: These machines dont make life easier -they make life more harassed.

            Dad: Now, with modems, faxes, and car phones. everybody wants everything instantly!

            Dad: Improved technology just increases expectations.

            Calvin (reading the cooking instructions on a bag of popcorn): Six minutes to microwave this ?? who's got that kind of time?!

            Dad: If we wanted more leisure wed invent machines that do things le'ss efficiently.

                @atlefren @smallsco I remember one time at an office break room I had two things that I each need to microwave for 30 seconds, and there were two microwaves so I used both at the same time

                  @atlefren this feels like it needs the XKCD comic “Compiling” appended to the end.

                    @atlefren "AI" is very inefficient, but the effects are so delayed that, by the time we get to reap the rewards, things will be so bad that everything will just crumble under its own weight.

                        @atlefren @timixretroplays The biggest problem with ADHD is that we can do almost any one thing faster than most others. The challenge for us therefore is having the discipline to say “not now” to the wrong ones — as shiny as they may be!
