With my penchant for watching old movies I'm noticing that even the bleakest outlooks cast at the future ruling classes didn't prepare us for what we're living now.
For example, the common trope - from "Blue Thunder" to "The Net", even the Bourne series - that once the conspiracy is revealed, the rich white powerful bad guys are taken away in handcuffs.
Compare the current reality where all their crimes happen openly & proudly, with zero consequences for them.
