@saustrup Similarly you can make a janky diy IR filter for b&w shots using the film as a lens gel on your camera. Given the results of said filter I don't know that I'd count on it to protect my vision looking directly at the sun.

@saustrup home made solutions are the most dangerous. You may block enough visible light to make it so it feels okay, but let enough UV through to harm your retina, and you won't know until it's too late.
