I can't really judge too much though, as I have depended on browsing Google Maps and Tripadvisor and Airbnb.I'm trying to shift how I plan #travel (away from big tech) - do you have any tips?(from your experience or reading recommendations)
So far, I'm thinking to:
-ask lots of questions to friends who have experience visiting or living near the destination
-check out local tourism websites

- Planning train travel with seat61.com
- Staying at friend or booking a hostel/hotel (AirBnB has business in occupied Palestine)
- Save notes every time I hear something interesting about a place in Obsidian. Then when I go there, I pull up the note on that place and get ideas.
- More recently started saving places in #CoMaps
- Plan to not have to do so much. Several days in a row with "nothing to see" is great. That means I can just wander around, discover -

(Obsidian keeps being mentioned by various people, so I'm giving it a try - excited that it looks like I can move my notes from other apps into it)
