my 2nd husband was abusive. After almost 20 years, I met someone, that he didn't know, who offered me a safe space, where he couldn't find me.
I told my family that I had left.
We were brought up Catholic.
That Christmas, I remember getting a call from my uncle, who I adored, telling me that I should go back to the man who broke a rib by kicking me, when I was sleeping.
My religion was saying that I wasn't supposed to leave a man who beat me.
I went pagan, where I was considered EQUAL. -

@VeroniqueB99 the worst part, some of the worst things he did he didn't remember, and once I was clean, that scared me even more than what he actually did.

I can imagine...@VeroniqueB99 we literally found out that he broke a rib because he hugged me a week later and dislodged the one he broke. I told the hospital that I slipped on a staircase while helping a friend move and fell on the newal post at the bottom of the stairs.
