Mastodon (and software for similar services) should have some kind of watchdog circuit that disables registration of new accounts if admins seem inactive.

Mastodon (and software for similar services) should have some kind of watchdog circuit that disables registration of new accounts if admins seem inactive. That would at least minimise the impact of such things to already registered accounts.
