This is the vast majority of what my interactions on Mastodon entail. Yes, there are the few snipers and trolls that migrated over from Twitter, but they are still quite rare.
Mostly I value the genuine desire to engage. And when it's absent, it's a lot easier to spot here because it's not the norm.

I know we should resist gloating - there is still a lot to improve and there are groups who genuinely do not feel welcomed or at home here yet. But I don't think it's by design, I don't think it arises out of hatefulness, but it's real.
So we still have a long way to go and a lot to learn, but I get the sense we are overwhelmingly willing to learn.
