100th episode of charmed was utterly delightful. i wish the network had let them have more in-universe fun and celebrated the show more! a tour de force

season 5 of charmed is weird but the baby stuff works if you ignore that brad kern clearly made wyatt a boy in his continuing efforts to make the show about men

now, the leprechaun episode of charmed… 😵‍💫 why did any of this even happen???

beyond the cheesy “magical creatures” saturation and irish stereotypes, phoebe (the one that can SEE THE FUTURE) spends the episode trying to prove that nobody will ever fall in love over the internet

then pat benatar, playing herself, shows up at their front door? and knows the leprechaun, who makes a “hit me with your best shot” pun? what is the plot?????

@magicalgirlsabrina "Dude, we got Pat Freakin' Benatar to be on our show and it was everything we had dreamed of since we were 12" isn't plot enough for you?

of the frequent episode writers for charmed, krista vernoff is by far my favorite and always delivers the core aspects that make the show special and beloved

there’s a whole charmed episode about how grams was wrong to distrust men, despite the entire show’s (and the real world’s) body of evidence. it’s a pretty offensive storyline for a show that started out with the the core themes it originally had. so far this is my least favorite storyline and continues my theory that brad kern wanted this to be a show about men and whitelighters and not a show about women and witches

@magicalgirlsabrina Charmed suffered the same odd direction change for arbitrary reasons that all shows on that long do

need to chase new audience while the original audience may be falling off

we need more personal episodes and less leo, but season six of charmed is actually really good because the universe is so deep and established
