@huxley @afewbugs I think we need to give the “terrorism” label a rest even here. Call the thing what it is: violent political intimidation. Calling it “terrorism” just validates a framing the government uses (with far more energy and determination than it’s shown this week) to demonise protests against climate crisis and genocide
@considermycat @afewbugs You're right of course, but if the term is to be bandied about then it first should be applied to situations where actual people are being physically attacked, not to old ladies holding signs or people supergluing themselves to a pavement.

I'm not normally a conspiracy theorist, but the idea that someone like Putin might consider a very efficient way to destabilise a country would be to mobilise a bunch of angry, resentful young men to threaten its emergency responders and council workers is looking increasingly plausible
And you may be interested in making a country leave a powerful block of countries all working together to advance their economic and regulatory interests.
Like, uh... The EU?
