I can't be the only Brit who's deeply ashamed that King Charles is making a state visit to the USA.

@ApostateEnglishman
Agreed.
But blowing smoke up Trump's fabby orange rectum is an easy way to get what you want from him...@Nick_Stevens_graphics @ApostateEnglishman
Which is a good theory but given the omnishambles of his cabinet and his clearly decreased capacity... it doesn't work in practice as it's not his rectum that needs the smoke blown up it.
It is a more sensible idea to back off and just let America implode at this point.

@ApostateEnglishman
Trump threatened Canada, still part of his majesty’s commonwealth. We pay more per capita to the crown than Brits. So unless it’s to get Trump to back off, he can fuck off.
Our PM Carney is brother to Sean Carney the financial advisor to Prince William.
I’m very curious what gets discussed also considering Epstein connections getting investigated in UK & elsewhere.@JoBlakely Excellent point, which I've duly boosted. Thank you.

I can't be the only Brit who's deeply ashamed that King Charles is making a state visit to the USA. It's embarrassing enough that we still have a monarchy, in this day and age, without the King indulging a petulant psychopath who has threatened to invade allied nations and rolled out the red carpet for Putin.
What next, a banquet with Kim Jong Un?
@ApostateEnglishman If it keeps the
from thinking bad thoughts about
then we'll take the win. -

I guess I'd be ashamed too if I in any way identified with the monarchy or the British state.
To my eyes, as an Englishman, both are representatives of the hierarchy of scumbags who #enclosed the commons that our ancestors lived off, driving them from the land of their birth.
Which leaves my feelings more an intensification of the desire to be rid of the lot of them than any kind of personal shame.

@ApostateEnglishman In 2066, William needs to dissolve the monarchy, abdicate all lands and titles to the state, be called William the liborator and bugger off to Normandy after a thousandish years of foreign rule. -

The monarchy should be dismantled. People can’t afford to live but the king and president enjoy lavish lifestyles. They are all useless.Once upon a time it was thought that Charles would be a reformer and modernizer of the monarchy. No such luck. Although he may succeed in making it less popular than ever.
Royalty, like all the other super-wealthy, need to be taxed down to reality.

Couldn’t agree more! The world can’t afford to keep wealthy pedigree humans as circus animals anymore. Time for them all to get real jobs. -

They haven't decided; depends on the May elections.

@ApostateEnglishman You're not the only one. I did sign the petition saying that the King shouldn't go, but like all of those petitions, it was ignored. I just hope that Trump doesn't hold Charles hostage and refuse to release him until he's given Canada - the orange idiot is mad enough to do it.

@ApostateEnglishman When your very existence is a status symbol and bestowing your attention is by definition an honor to the recipient, & it turns out status and flattery are the only thing (besides money & rapey opportunities) that the petulant psychopath stopping world trade notices, then you’re the best chance for your nation to have any influence. Sucks that it comes to this, but as a citizen of the former colonies, I’d rather have Charles than Stephen Miller in that ear now.

@ApostateEnglishman I recommend that no one visits the United States at this point in time. It is not safe for many of us living here, let alone visitors from other countries.

I'm not clear on the cutting off his own son, but socializing with the far worse perpetrator.
Makes the whole Andrew thing ... odd, and makes the King (pausing to insert the opinion that monarchy in this century is utter bullying, in and of itself), grubby.

@ApostateEnglishman unless it's a really clever gambit to defeat the Trump regime. After all this visit must have taken ages to set up. Charles III can only move one square at a time!
