    @KronoGarrett Hehe, I never had the time or the panel count to establish properly the relation to the Amphora of Great Intelligence; but this episode https://www.peppercarrot.com/en/miniFantasyTheater/035__Avian-Intelligence.html had a clue about it. Yes, the Parrot are just terminals. Maybe I'll can set this up in next comics, but I'm also considering pausing a bit on the Avian Intelligence series, it's great, but the theme is also exhausting for me 😆

    @davidrevoy Yes, that’s it.

    I’d bet. It’s just a fatigiung subject to deal with (and I still need to draw one of my bigger darlings stomping a hyperscale data center into a crater, or my computer werewolf tangling with a sparkly gradient blob monster representative of slop.)

      @davidgerard I blocked this fucker on sight by the way cause I don’t in fact have to listen to someone just make shit up but while we’re here let’s take bets on the response

      - uhh nice small n study from pew research and gallup, call me back when someone serious does the work
      - these are just the US, they don’t represent the world (which is hilarious cause outside of the US, AI’s even more hated, citation not needed)
      - you’re lying, that study says people are “more concerned than excited” not that they hate AI (please call me when the survey does have a “I fucking hate this shit” option)
      - well in my tech-heavy field it’s very popular (because your coworkers will get fired if they say they hate this shit and your bosses are savoring grifters)
      - well actually this survey says *links some shit anthropic paid for*

      @zzt

      I'd like to know by how much more AI is hated elsewhere. I always find those US vs the world attitude surveys fascinating...

      Possibly it's morbid fascination.

        @poleguy Hey, I had a couple on other places; but I'm bit lost at understanding it as an (now old) Y gen; please tell me about it 🙂

        @davidrevoy that's the whole joke... Any time someone says 6,7 you say 6,7 move your hands and laugh.

        Its terrible and the kids have already moved on.

          @poleguy Ha, alright, thank you for explaining! It's simpler than what I though. 😊
          I guess each generation has something like that, I can remember similar stuff while studying in the French schools 🙂

              @PyrexContainer Hey, first, Nightshade is proprietary and not even has a Linux release; so big red flag; and also unfortunately, it's a scam. The method was defeated a week after release, but I love the intent (not the method) and I'm impressed by the Press coverage they got, and how many non technical artist still think this "armor of paper" will protect their art of anything. There is a lot of needs of a psychological protection into this product.

              @davidrevoy it is deployed by the university of Chicago, they're not the kind of people to hide malware in stuff, its probably due to the team leader wanting to turn it into a product or wanting patents, anyways it's simply just a noise tool with some hidden patterns, you could definitely do the same in gimp, i dont know about krita though

                @PyrexContainer No, it's not just a filter, it's an AI regeneration of the picture with nudging at the pixels level some overall pattern to trick the AI labeling process. (eg. flag a cat for a dog picture). It's extremely costly in GPU resources compared to a filter like the ones of GMIC (Krita/GIMP).
                Also, have you seen what happened to Cara over the past weeks? they were offering this type of poisoning as a service... 12 Million of artworks scrapped. 3 times. https://www.threads.com/@zemotion/post/DcAmokzlLWj

                  "I didn't knew that in real-life, DDG has a 60% market share" - ok, you're getting there. Now look at the DDG poll and see that the Fedi poll has the EXACT same split between pro/anti 🙄

                  "Or maybe fedi polls have *very huge* bias" - except when they don't, as we already know with the DDG poll

                  "That would only feed the troll" - Statistician is the word you're looking for

                      @doctormo @encukou Good to know, thank you! I imagine it will be very difficult and require some fundamental modification at the text object level to receive effects like that.

                      Right now, the only software I know that can stack effect deformation on top of editable text object is Blender (screenshot, eg. Wave Modifier on dynamic text object, multiline). It looks like "vector magic" how the nodes of the font itself can be influenced by a global effect at their root. Amazing.

                        It's not as hard as it first seems. The font has to be rendered down to a vector at some point anyway; so what you have a is a very complex shape. the problem is how the LivePathEffect system itself was designed and then on top you'd like for edits to be positioned correctly and that is more interesting too as you have to feedback the positions to the text selection too.
