@hzulla Every climate modell with a livable future works with carbon capture and we still don't have a technology that can produce this outcome. Your mass media won't report on it, though.

I want to see the graph of carbon captured if we spent the money restoring biodiverse forests, wetlands, and peatlands - instead of on tech bros

@hzulla and if you don’t burn 🔥 stuff, you don’t need to capture and store it - while burning more stuff to create the energy to do so 🤷🏻‍♂️

@hzulla to be fair if we add to it actually protecting healthy existing ecosystems, line can go up! 😂

@mrzarquon @hzulla @lkanies Sadly, although we've released all that carbon by burning prehistoric biological material, when they captured it they did it over a very very very long time. We then released it all in a century.

Whilst replanting is a wonderful thing for other reasons, it's not a realistic strategy to help with CO2 capture. The rate plants capture CO2 is too low compared to how fast we've pumped it out and burnt it.

@mrzarquon @hzulla @lkanies from the source article: "And we would need to devote about 768,000 square miles of land worldwide to growing those carbon-absorbing plants."
                    So at least that much.

@hzulla the "Solar Power" graph shows energy, not power, at least according to the shown unit
