@FediTips I tend to have some trouble with content from other instances not showing properly, taking too long, things like that. For example, if I open someone's profile on the original instance, it's different from what appears to me from here. Is this something natural from the fediverse, or am I doing something wrong?
If you are viewing a post or discussion thread, wait 5 - 10 seconds and you should see a message appear that says "Show more posts". Click on this and you will see all of that thread's posts appear. This feature means everyone on every server sees the same discussion
Profiles don't yet have this feature, but an equivalent feature for profiles has been written and is waiting for review by the developers (technical details are at https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/pull/34597).

Like a set of pinned mastodon posts that — on a large screen — would display like posters on a bedroom wall.
The posts could be original, or links from other fediverse locations like mastodon or pixelfed.
Is there something in the fediverse that does that, or could be induced to?

I changed this in my settings a week ago, but nothing has happened yet.
Can you tell me how long it usually takes for a change like this? Or do I need to do anything else? Thanks. -

If it's been a really long time and they're still not deleted, check your settings (more info at https://fedi.tips/deleting-posts-automatically-in-mastodon-after-a-certain-time-period) and if the settings are correct ask your server admin about it.

The private messages!
The way mastodon handles private replies instead of separate inbox was something I did not know about until recently (and still bit unsure about) so I'm sure new users would find helpful a guide and tips on how to do that!
