Any guesses as to why this isn't prime time international news with over 200+ articles per minutes and abuse on social media and think pieces and such?

What could possibly be the reason?
I can't possibly imagine. This is what real academic fraud looks like.

@timnitGebru didn't Professor Ariely have a collaborator named Francesca Gino?
Wonder why she is on the outside and he is apparently still employed...?

@timnitGebru
& this detail: tamper with or fabricate data on.. procrastination?
jeez, dunno if that is more burlesque or more grotesque..apart from the appalling essential parts of the story, ofc.

@timnitGebru funny, just a couple of months ago I was curious about where the story ended up and ran into some older interview that was supposed to be his nonchalant rehabilitation piece. He came across as full of hubris, which is never a good sign. As a layperson who read his books decades ago, they are worthless to me now.

@timnitGebru jesus, the whole thing is really bad, and then you get to the end and
> Ariely was named 636 times in files released by the U.S. Department of Justice pertaining to Epstein, which revealed the two men had met at least seven times over six years. All of Ariely’s interactions with Epstein that are discoverable in the files came after the financier was convicted of soliciting prostitution from a minor in 2008.

“Duke announced it was shuttering the Center for Advanced Hindsight, which Ariely ran”
Seriously?! Duke university unironically ran something called the “Center for Advanced Hindsight”?
