For those with religious connections, this is a season of celebration of rebirth, with festivals including Eid, Passover, and Easter falling around the same time.

@wdlindsy Being white or an oopaloompa does not mean the person is Christian.

@BLTpizza Does anyone credibly suggest the contrary?

@wdlindsy Some people in the media keep referring to trump as a Christian without any evidence to support the claim.

"This is an actual post. This is not funny. This is beyond desperate. This is a deeply unwell man who doesn’t belong anywhere near the levers of power. Every member of his cabinet and Congress is complicit in not demanding his removal now."
~ Steven Beschloss
Agree. Those who are standing on the sidelines watching trump disintegrate - and choosing to do nothing - are complicit. He is now the most unwell and dangerous person alive.
When I first saw this post I thought it was parody, a joke. But no. This is actually a post by the President of the United States. -

@BLTpizza I think the media decision is that it would be unprofessional to weigh in on discussions of what constitutes authentic Christianity. Those are discussions that need to go on within Christianity itself. Also, it has to be recognized that all sorts of beliefs and behaviors have claimed to represent Christianity over the centuries: some have used Christianity to justify "holy" wars, others have adamantly refused the path of violence, etc.

@wdlindsy it is patently ridiculous to call Trump a Christian. He doesn’t self identify that way and he shows no evidence that he follows the Way of Jesus. This is not a correct equivalence from Martinez.

@wdlindsy I have lots of bones to pick with other actual Christians, including the pope. But Trump is a not a Christian. One of these men leads a church. The other can destroy humanity by force and destroy life on earth. This is not a mere philosophical divergence of views. The Christian thing to do is to remove Trump from power
He is an unrepentant rapist, felon and war criminal. He can change his ways, but he needs to do that work on himself away from weapons of mass destruction.

@wdlindsy I can respect the journalistic rules.
