    There are lots of satellites here in the southern skies too. But the stars behind the satellites are absolutely incredible! The Milky Way was absurdly bright! The Magellenic Clouds were so easy to see! WOOOOWWWWW

      "Really close to Sydney", for anyone thinking of adding it to their Sydney visit itinerary = a 2 hour drive, over 100km, putting the Blue Mountains mountain range between Leura and light pollution from Sydney. 🤪

      @isol

      1. We're both from Canada, 100km / a 2hr drive is "really close" in terms we understand.

      1a. You can get there from Sydney by train, so it's pretty doable for any visitor, really.

      2. 100km is rarely if ever far enough to escape light pollution from a major and fairly sprawling metro like Sydney, so it's actually something pretty special.

      3. Not sure why you felt the need to post such a glib response to me saying something positive about the area. 🤷‍♂️
