      @gamingonlinux yeah, in settings on the web you can select only the language you want to see. Do keep in mind that whenever someone posts in english but has their post set as a different language(the translate button then appears if you're on an instance with translation available) you won't see those either

              @gamingonlinux oh yeah apparently it is. That's stupid. Apparently you have to change the followed languages for each person you follow individually. I wonder if this can be done by exporting and re importing your followed account list. I don't know but I guess seeing whether that's one of the preferences like notifications that's on the backup list would be the first step. If it is then a batch script to change it on all accounts would be possible. But yeah, I don't even know if that's available and if it is that's all still very stupid.

                  not the same thing, but you can individually select languages you want to see (or not) on each profile that you're following

                    @707Kat @gamingonlinux

                    The short answer is:

                    Language filters are overriden by follows, so if someone you follow posts in your Home timeline in a filtered language it will still be visible.

                    BUT... there is a workaround:

                    1. Go to the profile of the person you follow who is posting in a foreign language
                    2. Click ⋯ on their profile
                    3. Select "Change subscribed languages"
                    4. Choose the language(s) you want from that account
                    5. Click "save changes"

                        @FediTips @707Kat @gamingonlinux

                        Does that work if they boost a post by someone written in another language too ?

                        I see a few of these currently.

                          I am not totally sure, it might be worth trying?
