    @nixCraft
    There is chromium-based @Vivaldi that may ships an integrated tracker and as blocker. It may not be uBlock, but it is still working nicely and lets you import custom rules.
    And they made an anti-AI pledge.

    @Progenitus @nixCraft @Vivaldi It is the same non-working minimal adblocking on all the reskinned Chromiums, that results in "we detected you're using an ad blocker, disable it if you want to read this" everywhere you go.

    That NEVER happens with UBO, the only genuine ad blocker.

      @nixCraft for what it's worth, Vivaldi add back in their own ublock compatible ad blocker

      @gothpanda @nixCraft And I see Vivaldi users complaining about "disable your ad blocker to continue" junk on news sites all the time... 🙄

      Because it doesn't actually do the job, like UBO does.

        Firefox is now the last known major browser that still supports uBlock Origin Ad blocker. Everyone including Microsoft Edge, Google and other Chromium browsers phase it out under Manifest V3. Firefox is also the only browser that check and ensure uBlock's code on every update to make sure the devs (or compromised repos) hasn't inserted spyware or malware into the extension code. @nixCraft Important clarification: all of the de-Mozilla'd Firefox forks support UBO too!

            @nixCraft O Brave, baseado no Chromium, oferece suporte a Manifest V2 e uBlock Origin. Chrome e Edge estão eliminando o suporte. Quando uma extensão é distribuída pelo Firefox Add-ons, ela passa pelo mecanismo de assinatura de extensões da Mozilla. O Firefox verifica a assinatura quando instala/ativa a extensão; essa assinatura permite detectar se os arquivos do pacote foram alterados depois de assinados. Assegurar que não tenham inserido spyware ou malware o Firefox não consegue garantir.

              @nixCraft Não há evidência confiável de que o Firefox faça uma comparação independente do código-fonte do uBlock Origin com o repositório GitHub a cada atualização.

                @nixCraft Vivaldi is trying to keep MV2 as far as they can. See the changelog of their latest Snapshot beta:

                  also if you have elderly parents or grandparents, do yourself a favor for their safety. please install an ad blocker on their browser. this cuts out so much risks. Google or 100s of Ad vendors don't care about spyware/malware delivered using their Ad network.

                    @mjr @nixCraft also my experience if I don't run strong adblockers or have to use a mobile device (especially when I was still on FB) is even the legit businesses that use online advertising tend to be sketchier ones with lower levels of customer service, and less reliable deliveries..

                      @nixCraft Vivaldi, which is Chromium base, has a built in blocker that is as good as uBlock Origin.

                          Vivaldi have clearly stated that they will be dropping v2 support.

                            The best way to block ads is to run a Pi-hole or similar as the dns on your LAN.

                            That way everyone can enjoy ad free browsing and more without being tied into any particular browser.
