@notjustbikes about SUVs that are too dangerous.

In Orlando a lady in a huge monster truck drove her machine on top of a Lamborghini sports car in the parking lot of Crunch Fitness. Because she couldn't see the car.

Not fake, confirmed by journalists. https://www.nu.nl/325970/video/bestuurder-parkeert-pick-uptruck-op-peperdure-lamborghini-in-vs.html

@notjustbikes Not surprisingly, the news and social media reactions to the video are about the price of the damaged object.

Not about the real, human issue. Is that issue too abstract to comprehend for the audience?

This is so rich I saw this posted the other day.

What was that again about visibility out of these things?

@eriksandblom @rrustema020 @notjustbikes In Finland, a CEO ran over a 3-year-old child with a Mercedes SUV. The man denied committing any crimes. He claimed that visibility from the car downward was extremely poor due to factors such as the window frames, the car’s height, and the shape of the front end.

@rrustema020 @notjustbikes Not even a selfdriving SUV but with a person at the wheel? It's not cars but people in cars you should be afraid of.

@rrustema020 @notjustbikes a pick up truck is in fact a work vehicle designed to be used to carry stuff in the missing rear half. Sadly, a large number of idiots in the us, Canada, and Mexico for the most part, somehow cannot realize this fact. They instead think it's cool to lift these vehicles to unsafe geometries and drive them like sport cars. I see this every f#cking day! An increase in the amount and manner of these vehicles should directly correlate to the dramatic increase in the level of stupidity in the general population..

@rrustema020 @notjustbikes The SUV driver was 100% in the wrong and that is a stupid design for a truck, but it's hard for me to muster up sympathy for someone driving a lambo.

"Stephen Miller arrested for accidentally discharging AR-15 into Pete Hegseth's Nazi tattoo." <- comparable hypothetical incident.

@rrustema020 wow what did I just saw?! How are cars that massive allowed on the streets? The guy in the Lamborghini was really lucky that he wasn’t injured. That could’ve been fatal. @notjustbikes

@hanghuhn @rrustema020 @notjustbikes It's because they are "non-passenger automobiles". In any sane environment, that should automatically require the driver to have a special professional driver's licence, but they are instead exempt from lots of rules.

@albertojavier @rrustema020 Not that it would have helped directly in this case, but work vehicles should have a low speed cutoff. It would have helped indirectly, though, because people wouldn't get them for driving around in.

It should also be mandatory to have a special professional driver's licence to drive any work vehicle, with regular medical checkups.
