According Trump's "great" diesel deal with Vladimir Putin US will receive 300,000 tons of diesel in the month of October. That corresponds to 18 minutes of use, and it also corresponds to 5% of the amount of diesel fuel US will export in the same period.

@mok0 That's weird, so why create so much political upset to import 5% the diesel you're already exporting? #politics #why #nosense #donaldtrump

In addition, Russia itself has a huge supply crisis for diesel fuel, and Putin has banned all exports of diesel fuel. So why did he agree to this deal? The answer is probably that Trump again walked into one of Putin's traps. The other part of the deal is very likely that US must stop supplying Ukraine with intelligence. Lo and behold, Trump has already threatened Zelensky that Ukraine must stop targeting Russian refineries... or lose US intelligence.

@jsecure I am very sure Trump doesn't know that. He knows there's a shortage of diesel fuel in US and it's making prices go up. But oil companies don't care about US shortage, they sell diesel wherever the profit is biggest, and there's a shortage all over the world, because of Trump's war against Iran. Check out my followup in the thread as to why Putin might have agreed to this "deal".

@mok0 Yeah to be honest, if I was Putin and I was desperately short of diesel, and Trump no less, walked up to me and asked for some, I'd sell it to him too. Diesel is valuable, but embarrassing Trump like that? That's not even political gold, that's political Platinum...
