in far north queensland, we found the tiger mosquitoes became unaffected to 80% DEET, the strongest repellant available, after about 2 weeks. it could melt plastic but not keep insects away lol

@catsalad I’m pretty sure that happens in the wild. Lighting a citronella candle outside seems to summon them. When you have a scent that is rare in nature and appears only around your prey, it doesn’t take a very complex neural network to learn a useful correlation.
