A heads up to anyone who has used HubSpot at some point in the past.

I just received the email seen in the screenshot, and instantly used the link provided later in the mail to opt out from being data mined and requested a deletion of my data.

However, I get the distinct feeling from the wording of the email that I only received it because I live in the EU and is subject to the GDPR. Anyone living outside of the EU should probably check if there is a way for them to opt out as well. This is the link I used:

    https://www.hubspot.com/hubspot-privacy-preferences

Second, and much more seriously, this is sent to an old email address that has not been used for business use for at least five years, and the HubSpot account was deleted at least a couple of years ago. The account was deleted - but clearly not my information.

So HubSpot is taking obsolete contact information to a business that has already been shut down for years, and share them with anyone willing to pay for the privilege to pester me with marketing attempts via phone or mail (both are now used for personal use).

    Fantastic.

Apart from me not wanting to be harassed by marketeers, selling access to useless data is probably not a sustainable business model, and if I had anything to do with that part of HubSpot, I would seriously consider if my money were well spent there...
