I liked the Irish coins with animals on them. Apparently one priest strongly objected:

What about a Beaver *dressed* as Winston Churchill, though? One of a range of historical beavers.Florence Nightingbeaver: the beaver with the lamp, Beavdicea, Elizabeav 1: the virgin beaver, and so on.
@Nickiquote million dollar idea. The otaku shops are already full of 'one animal dressed as another' teddies. Why not add in historical domain characters?

I always remember "a monkey" by working backwards from the bent policeman in Steve Bell's "If..." cartoons from the 80s, who used the term "centimonkey" for £5.
