@monkeyninja And by the same token, if you want to eat bacon and eggs, or Eggs Benedict, or Belgian waffles, at 9:00 pm or something, go for it! "Breakfast" foods do not suddenly become illegal just because it's no longer morning.

(And I tend to love the foods that are usually classes as being "for breakfast".)

@kagan @monkeyninja I love breakfast for dinner. (The chief drawback is that a breakfast dinner doesn't really make for great leftovers, and I generally eat dinner leftovers for "breakfast" about four hours after I get up.)

I don't know who needs to hear this but anything you want to eat for breakfast is a breakfast food. Food does not magically become inedible at breakfast because you personally only ate it at dinner. Rice and beans for breakfast? Go for it! Oatmeal for dinner? Hell to the yeah. Become ungovernable.

I had cream of wheat for an afternoon snack last week and have definitely had ice cream for breakfast before. My husband loves cold leftover pork & beans for breakfast.

@woe2you @monkeyninja When I lived in Ōsaka, for breakfast I'd have a standup bowl of udon or soba at the train station, on the way to the office. (Usually tsukimi or kitsuné)

@monkeyninja Rice and beans (natto) is a traditional Japanese breakfast! Everything that's weird to someone is normal to someone else. Normal is the new weird.

I was delighted to find people in Vietnam eating hot broth with noodles and vegetables for breakfast. My favorite food any time of day!

@monkeyninja I can't believe no one has mentioned cold leftover pizza yet. Cold leftover pizza is such a perfect breakfast food, in my book no other food really is a breakfast food, including oatmeal and bacon and eggs.

@monkeyninja My favourite breakfast has always been leftovers from yesterday's supper. Some find it strange and I find *that* strange.

@monkeyninja Try telling my wife this. 🙂 She's got incredibly strict and specific rules on what she considers to be a breakfast food. (She only applies said rules to herself, though, so it's all good.)

@itsmaya @monkeyninja It absolutely is. And yet so much weirder than a person who thinks Cajun or Tex mex when hearing about beans and rice would ever expect.

@monkeyninja This is in the case in Japan. When I asked someone what the Japanese breakfast was, the replied "the same as the Japanese lunch".
