Would you frequent a non-alcoholic bar?

Would you frequent a non-alcoholic bar? There would be a wall of pretty bottles that nice staff would mix alcohol-free cocktails of their wildest dreams out of, music would maybe be a bit quieter and the tables cleaner, but otherwise just a reasonably nice bar with maybe board games, books, sports or dancing.

@quixoticgeek @sinituulia FWIW I went to a regular bar last night, bought a beer & sat down at a table with my book, about ten feet away from the evening's DJ.
Some of us around here have decided that reading at bars is going to be the next big thing & we're the first-movers

@jwcph @sinituulia my local bar shuts the WiFi off at 1730 and doesn't allow laptops after that

@quixoticgeek @sinituulia I have to admit that I get that - a laptop is a workbench, which we also wouldn't enjoy somebody the next table over using while we were trying to enjoy our drink & company/book.
I have a notebook in my EDC bag, specifically so if I need to write something while oot & aboot, I can do it ye olde fashionede waye.

@jwcph @sinituulia I disagree on the laptop thing. I struggle to write on pen and paper, I find it a lot easier on a laptop

@quixoticgeek @sinituulia So do I, most certainly - I touch type & it's been my natural way of creating text for decades. But I do agree with the "but not at a bar" thing, personally. Your mileage may vary

@jwcph @sinituulia I'll keep searching for a nice bar.

@quixoticgeek @sinituulia To be clear, I wouldn't stink-eye you if you were sitting next to me with your laptop

@jwcph @sinituulia I'm autistic. I wouldn't get the hint anyway.

@quixoticgeek @sinituulia Then the bar I visited yesterday would be just up your alley - it's run & staffed by autists & other people who have trouble fitting into "regular" jobs, they get their beer from their own brewery full of the same kind of people & even the DJs are, as they say around there, "People Like Us", because that's the name of the bar
(I'm not autistic but I'm a bit weird & a lot socially anxious, so I like it there, too - also, people there are really sweet)
