How does one show a quote post in replies?
-
@FediTips So this only works on desktop web UI (a computer with fullscreen layout) where it retains a quote, scrolling and point it into a reply?
This fails on mobile web UI and "desktop mode" because the compost input has no room to scroll and point it to? Even as janky as it is on mobile web/desktop mode, it will briefly retain the quote post in the compose input and trying to point it to a reply somehow clears the compose input. Is this the case?

What do you mean by "trying to point it to a reply somehow clears the compose input"?
How are you trying to "point it to a reply"?
Normally replies are done by clicking the reply button below the post you want to reply to, then writing the reply. You would then paste the link of the post you want to quote.
This feature should work on the web interface in both desktop and mobile. It should also work on all apps that support it.

That works fine, the quoted post is visible here.

@FediTips
So I made a thread with multiple videos explaining it and you still don't get it?Do you even test? There are differences between mobile web UI and actual desktop web UI, one renders the other doesn't.
It is currently not possible to quote a post in a reply within a conversation thread on mobile web UI, period. On desktop fullscreen display, you can.

@FediTips It's literally in the quote. https://infosec.exchange/@darkpixel/115949359347481982

That quote appears to me just as a post saying "please ignore"
I didn't know you wanted me to look at it, there's no link in that post.

I have tested it on an iPhone with the web interface, it worked fine when replying with a quote. It displayed correctly.
I also tested with the mobile web UI triggered on a desktop PC by shrinking the window, it also worked fine.
I am not sure what else you want me to test?
