Reading "Enshittification" of @pluralistic . Can recommend, entertaining to read with good length and, of course, very interesting and pertinent.
He makes the point that antitrust policies are an important tool to combat Enshittification and that a lot is going on in that direction, for example under the Biden goverment, but also in the EU.
Now I have a question: Why is this happening in the EU? Why did Vestager take the steps she took? I don't recall this being a topic at all in the EU elections?
P.S. We sat once beside her and her partner in the opera. My wife saved the evening by giving her coughing partner a breath mint. Take that, Zuck!

@philippbirken @pluralistic @sorenhave because the European Commission has had this power for decades. Vestager was doing what her predecessors were doing, and - I think from some personal conviction - doing it solidly.

@jon @philippbirken @pluralistic @sorenhave Yeah, Vestager came into the Commission after having effectively controlled the government from a small party, and she had very high ambitions - she aimed for Leyden’s current position. When she does something it’s never halfassed.
