We arrived back in our vacation spot at 3:20 this morning. Dead on our feet after a 4h drive to Central Spain and waiting for hours in cozy 36°C. But soooo worth it. No photograph is able to capture what totality feels like. The colours, light and temperature changing. I really understand now how a #solareclipse was able to end wars.
(Pictures in a few days, want to edit in peace back at home). -

(Pictures in a few days, want to edit in peace back at home).Wednesday was an otherworldly, humbling experience and now I even got good pics to show! I was apprehensive because images came out quite dark. It was hard to estimate how much more exposure time a low sun would need compared to values from the cheat sheet found online.
But the low ISO was forgiving. Also: I'm soooo glad I chose wide angle, the Moon's shadow moving through the sky was such an amazing effect to witness and capture. -

Beautiful spot. That makes your pictures unique. -

Beautiful spot. That makes your pictures unique.@aoe Many photographers went for telephoto effects with a low sun big in the frame near a city skyline. But we had kids with us and didn't want them to suffer through long location scouting so chose a hillside with some old buildings via Google maps and hoped for the best. Got lucky. Also friendly locals who opened their 13th century church for us to cool down.
