@Natasha_Jay wild that this is even controversial, doctors who let their beliefs interfere with their work should be immediately fired and blacklisted

50%+ of UK GPs on trans healthcare I suspect ... they can help but choose not to.

@Natasha_Jay here there's a big debate over the conscience clause with abortion, and I think it's fair to allow it *only for those doctors who completed their medical degree before the Supreme Court ruling decriminalizing it nationwide* because at least they had a reasonable expectation to not have to perform abortions, anyone who got their degree a day after that should have to suck it up. you could've become a dermatologist if you really had a problem with this

Similar in the UK where GPs can give bridging prescriptions for HRT in theory (or simply do bloods monitoring for the many on DIY) but so often won't.

Too many open-ended 'competence' clauses let them opt out on something that is not very complex.

@Natasha_Jay yeah, here there's a couple of government trans clinics (and one of them is quite good because it makes it a priority to hire trans people to the extent that they can, even though it's usually as receptionists/administrators/etc.) but getting the IMSS to cover HRT or surgery is a battle

@Natasha_Jay Tell me again about the oath they take ... if an accident victim comes in broken because they didn't wear their seatbelt, it's not okay not to treat them because of that "lifestyle choice," right?

So when the endocrinologist's receptionist loudly proclaimed within hearing of everyone in the waiting room that he "doesn't see people like" me ...
