Hayes said it was a “very worrying sign” that the government had allowed two gas-fired datacentres to apply into the NSIP regime. “I think that sends an extremely bad signal and demonstrates that they are not serious about addressing the emissions associated with datacentres,” he said, describing it as an “affront to local people”.

@junesim63 Sadly, the smell of money always overrules care for the people, and *this* so-called 'labour' government is no different.

Along with every govt around the world, they have taken in the hype, generated basically by a handful of billionaires whose only interest is personal power through wealth.

Grifters.

There is no limit to the level of data processing required now and in the future which means even more data centres/more pollution to come.

Whatever happened to objective thinking?
