Wow, AI is super-bad for idea development. I've worked with & taught this for years & one recurring theme is people go out of process & into final solution mode way too soon & often - but that's all AI does & can do: Present "final solutions" immediately, with no process.
Add that people in general are bad at abstracting from a presented framing & look differently at the topic at hand & AI is basically a machine for NOT developing ideas.

@jwcph @janeishly Watching folks at work use AI, the theme is very much “first idea best idea”.
Of course all the rhetoric around it is how it gets rid of “low value technical work” — like my job — in favour of “high value strategic work” — like my bosses’ jobs.
But it really takes the form of them tossing their every thought into Claude and getting excited over something that is fundamentally broken in numerous ways but looks high fidelity at first glance.
