@babe @TheBreadmonkey Indeed, the stickiest of sticks!

@TheBreadmonkey In the unlikely event you would like to physically own the painting of the stick, let me know and I would be happy to pop it in the post
In any case, I am very glad you like the stick

I'm really torn on this because I feel terribly English about this sort of thing and would hate to be a bother or put you out, but the truth is I'm afraid that I WANT IT, so if you genuinely don't mind, 100% yes please. I did a thing a little while ago about struggling with art for my office, and I've made very little progress since then and this would be by far my favourite. At one point is was all Francis Bacon style pieces but Trish made me take them down because they were "making me sad" and I "wouldn't stop crying". Jks. Thank you so much. Genuinely appreciate it millions.

@babe @TheBreadmonkey because no matter how great the source material is, everything is improved with googly eyes

Honestly cannot believe I actually laughed at this. Not sure if this is shame on you or shame on me or if we're supposed to share it.

Didn't have time before to respond properly to this very lovely thing...
I know this might seem a bit silly, but I really got a kick outta this stick and thought it was so cool. I think it's the simplicity of it but also the detail? Also I'm a massive hippy and love nature very much. Also, background (will try not to make this a huge story) - I got my two youngest a book on like a hundred things to do with sticks a few years back. I was a stay at home dad (which seems like an awful archaic expression now but you understand what I mean) and have an extremely fond memory of taking them off rambling one day (more for me than them) to find some cool sticks that we could then turn into wands. And I spent a couple of days carving fine detail into these fucking sticks we found and painting bits gold etc, and they were really quite cool and occulty. And I think this reminded me of that a bit. Thought you might get a kick out of knowing it gave me a nice memory.

Also - you are a tremendous artist. If anyone else is reading this load of old nonsense I would heartily recommend they please do go and check out your gorgeous gallery - https://wagtails.art/.

@babe Submit that to the RA summer exhibition. Just needs a suitable existential title. Maybe "Snip!" or "Ancient Forest – Deconstructed" or "Stickitome".
