My first computer had 640kB of RAM. Not many games run on it. Every interesting game of that time required 1MB.
The scarcity of RAM forced me to master DOS cli and to learn programming. I had plenty of time and a blinking orange prompt in front of me.
I hope current RAM prices will have similar effect on the people.
To optimize sw for what we have.
