I signed up for the Paris Marathon on April 12, 2026.

Again, my long morning run was the course for the Solrød Rundt half-marathon. I like this course a lot.
It's warm today, so for the first time this year I would seek shadows whenever possible. Still, this was challenging as I'm not used to running in heat. But I shouldn't complain; this was a nice run in the sun.
At 10k, I accidentally waterboarded myself with a gel. Cannot recommend...
Distance: 21.65k
Pace: 5'36"Solrød Rundt Løbet in 28 days.
Sticky! (And well done! That's around 2 hour pace! For a training run
)I think everybody not in the elites at the CPHhalf vividly remember the Red Bull zone and the sound of sticky soles for the first 500 meters after that
🫣
Gels are supposed to be out *inside* not *outside*
But you're well aware of that of course.Did you have a backup?

And was it good to have the water vest on this warmer run?I had extra gels, and running by a lake I could wash my face. But certainly not my proudest moment.

The water vest allows me to carry stuff (water, gels, phone, emergency details), but it does also make it more difficult for the body heat to get away. I am happy with it, and at the end of the day it is good, but on warm runs I can also see a downside.

It's tricky with the vest!
Without carrying the water, you'd surely feel thirsty fast too?And having too much in the pockets is really not fun!
On my local Utterslev Mose runs I have two options for water, so I'm luckily in good shape for most of my runs.
"The gel incident run" will at least be memorable

The vest ia good on long runs (or when I will need water along the way), no doubt about it. I'm glad I have it.
That said, I also have a mental map of where I can get something to drink out there. Churches and graveyards usually have water, and they are easy to spot at a distance.

Love the heading for that run!

The weather was absolutely beautiful (sun, warmth, a light breeze) and close to perfect for a long morning run. So I did that. It was just wonderful.
10k of easy running -> 3k tempo -> recovering with cold chocolate milk and second breakfast before a full day of gardening.
My soundtrack was mainly Joshua Ray Walker's "Tropicana". It's good!
Distance: 13.01k
Pace: 5'31"Solrød Rundt Løbet in 26 days.

Nicely run! Sounds like a good workout with a bit more tempo at the end of the run

Be mindful of the gardening!
You haven't trained the muscles required for that, have you? 🤪
(But seriously, I've had this kind of work set me back before, because I overdo it)

This month, I run to raise funds for the Danish Multiple Sclerosis Society. I have pledged to run 195.12k (getting there) and raise 1,951 DKK (way past that already).
In Denmark, 19,512 persons has multiple sclerosis. A member of my immediate family is one of them, and I see first-hand how much good the Society does. I want to support that - and to challenge myself.
#EveryRunHasAPurpose, and this month even more so.

I'm in Finland for the #emmaLappeenranta conference, and I started the day with an easy run. Rolling hills made for a nice change from my normal environment, and the view of the lake was quite something.
It was cold and windy, so I ran faster than planned to get back indoors. But there was no real plan, and I did not push to achieve something particular. This run was just fine.

I hope they have hot chocolate in the breakfast buffet!
And that you're able to get a lot out of the conference, new ideas and promising friendships perhaps.
Impressive sculpture in the sand, I'm interested to know if it's on purpose or someone who was bored during the weekend

The conference is great, thank you. It's a yearly thing, and it's about the core disciplin of my research (media management and economics), so it's my scholarly "home". Lots of old and new friends and collaborators, and too many new ideas for what I have time for.

The sand sculpture was part of a large work-in-progress, so it seems there will be a grand exhibition or festival or something in a few weeks. Either that, or someone was *really* bored.

"Scholarly home" is a good way to put it. I know that kind of conference

Interesting what the sculpture will end up looking like.
And don't underestimate a bored artist!

This long run had it all! 2k with my daughter
️ (very easy @ low pace), heavy legs, cows, warmth, high humidity, heavy air, exhaustion, good music, slight dehydration, chafing, nice dogs (who's a good boy?), not-so-nice dog owners (no, it's not "cute" when your dog chase me because "it wants to play"), negative split, @coachbennett, flow, more good music, excellent mental performance, joy.Distance: 21.75k
Pace: 5'56"Solrød Rundt Løbet in 20 days.

Today's run marks the end of my fundraiser for the Danish Multiple Sclerosis Society: https://www.scleroseforeningen.dk/yougo/indsamlingsside/?id=cmm7f3et1003g4q05yv1h1a9x (it runs until midnight)
And I met my goal. Throughout this May, I have run 201.78k - which is the furthest I have ever run in a month. Not gonna lie: I am very proud of that. But even better, I managed to raise 3,695 DKK for the good cause. Thank you, everyone!!
See you on the next starting line. Ever onwards.

That truly sounds like everything in one package!
And congratulations on reaching the goal for may!

While my daughter trained with the local athletics team*, I ran laps around the stadium.
As it was the same 400m I did over and over, the challenge todays was mental first and foremost. But I managed, and this was hard and fun.
*: to see if she wants to join; she thinks she does.
Distance: 12.64k

Yeah, that's a lot of round and round!
You didn't do 25*400m repeats at 5k pace or some such?

I've used the track close to my parents once in a while for køre specific training sessions, but it only helps very slightly to make it more interesting

Celebrating @nerdd's run today, I realized today is Global Running Day. So I of course had to squeeze in a short evening run.
I don't know if it was a good idea, though. 1) My right leg was somewhat sore after yesterday's 30-something laps around the athletics stadium, turning left all the time. 2) My stomach was still full of spaghetti and meatballs. Delicious but heavy just before a run...

A nice long morning run. it was quiet out there, a bit of light rain, and almost no other runners.
The course was the same as the past couple of weeks. The nasty incline out of Karlstrup Limestone Pit is getting easier: it's 80 strides steeply uphill, but I'm getting better at doing it controlled without burning myself out.
I took it easy, as my right leg still feels a little sore.
Distance: 21.71k

Åh hvor fedt med den tegning!
Har du løbet halvmaraton hver uge stadigvæk efter de 52 uger? Det er blevet mange lange ture efterhånden!
Jeg håber dit ben føles ok efter turen og er i topform til Solrød rundt!
