I mean, it's certainly not a source of democracy, let alone a force for good. But it makes me wonder about manufactured items. Do you have an item manufactured in the USA which you really like?
I'll start: I got two Nalgene bottles. They're pretty and functional. Also a bit of used thermal blanket from a Space Shuttle that's, uhm, upcycled (?) into a living room ornament.
I'm genuinely interested. So please share if you have anything

@Pepijn I, too, have Nalgene bottles. Also quite a few fountain pens that are made in the USA (they use German nibs). Field Notes notebooks can be good, though I've moved away from using them. My favorite paint brushes (for house painting, not art) are by Purdy. Of course, I'm also in the US so I'm probably seeing things that don't escape to the rest of the world.

@Pepijn Hmm you made me think, but most of the things I'm happy with are apparently European! (With the exception of Japanese headphones). The only thing I remember ordering from the US (despite preferring not to) was my coffee mug because I could only find this print in one place. Another thing that came to mind as iconically American that I've learned to appreciate are Kraft Singles; not because they are tasty or anything, but because they brought us the idea to make tostikaas during my Bachelors degree and that was a fun project (and a fairly tasty product, it melted well, didn't stick and actually tasted of cheese!)

@Pepijn the little round cheap band-aids! The size of a quarter, they’re useful for covering small bruises and cuts. Cheap and available everywhere in the US, unavailable in DK.
Cydwog shoes (I currently have none, which is a serious mistake).
