TIL that in 2024, NASA engineers saved Voyager 1 by reviving backup thrusters that hadn't been used since 2004. The 48-year-old spacecraft's primary thrusters were failing due to fuel clogs, and without this fix, it would have lost its ability to communicate with Earth forever.
