It's also unfortunate, because they could just scroll your website / timeline and see that your style has developed! The early comics are not the same as the newest ones! There's learning, refinement, growth, it's organic.
But when everything is consumed in random snapshots served by an algorithm, most of the audience doesn't see artists' trajectories, and most horrifyingly, seem to forget that such a thing exists. All media exists in an endless state of "right now".

@davidrevoy They're so bot-like either. Or they're just themselves bot training material. It's the self eating snake like always.
By the way, your art is so damn cool. If I could I take their throwing peebles to start a pedestal to your art.

@davidrevoy That must be so frustrating. Hard work degraded to slop.

@davidrevoy on another side, facebook/reddit et al. users aren't the most intelligent people to the point one wonders how did they not die in their childhood from some stupid accident
would you take genuine advice from a bumbling idiot? no
then stop treating a bunch of morons as an authority. they probably clap at actual fucking slop on their feeds -
@davidrevoy @tristen et voilà j'avais raison !!

@davidrevoy And I agree with other commenters. You should ignore them. I really like your art style and sense of humor. Changing it because of some 'sh*tty' comments would be a shame. You should only change it because you found a new/better way to express yourself.

@davidrevoy
I hate the assumption that you used AI and not that the AI was trained on your (and others) work.I'm so sorry you have to deal with these kinds of comments

I think this must be a 'user' thing, people assume you use Facebook, or other big tech social media, we can tell this as there is very little option to 'share on fediverse' for example.
Another example is the media talk about people who are apparently super famous usually either influencers or reality TV stars that no one out side of those circles of influence have even heard of.

@davidrevoy I feel so sorry for you. When artists now have to post a TIMELAPSE just to prove they did NOT post AI slop, something is very very broken.
HOT TAKE: The burden of proof lies on the accuser, not the artist. If you cannot prove something is #AI #slop, STFU!

@davidrevoy Related experience, from the writing side:
"I'm Kenyan. I Don't Write Like ChatGPT. ChatGPT Writes Like Me."
Marcus Olang' (2025)
https://marcusolang.substack.com/p/im-kenyan-i-dont-write-like-chatgpt@gaditb @davidrevoy I'm not a professional writer , just a very amateur blogger but I wrote this after someone commented on how "AI Generated" my blog was..
... despite me never actually using AI.
Even taking the personal views aside, after checking through some online AI detectors (AI's themselves mostly! Oh the irony!) I still scored high on the AI Gen score.
This was a slightly tongue in cheek response to that. But as stated above I'm in the unfortunate position where my normal writing voice sounds like something ChatGPT would spew out
