It's interesting that Google's compliance with non-law government directives regarding the names of bodies of water is so blazingly fast, because, they say, it's their responsibility under the law and they're just following orders...

@cliffle Tells me that they see themselves as a part of the US government.
After letting that sink in for a bit, things they do/did now start to make a whole lot more sense.
