@zbrown@floss.social @libreoffice@fosstodon.org maybe they didnt read the news these past few years? Glad they eventually made the partial (because they’re not ditching twitter entirely) move tho
-
@admin@olsberg.social @libreoffice@fosstodon.org deleting the account is out of the question, someone would immediately make an account with the same handle and pose as official account
@tragivictoria @libreoffice I see.
-
@pricklypear @libreoffice try it - it won't cost you anything

It's more than adequate for my use, but then I'm not in accounting with horrendous spreadsheets that should really be a database instead
...@chewie @libreoffice cool. Im going to try it out today!
-
@stefan that is all fair, and I certainly support having empathy, assuming good faith, etc. The meaning of my comments are essentially that in my honest opinion Mastodon doesn't have a significantly higher barrier to entry or steeper learning curve than other 'social media' platforms. Additionally, read through the comments on @libreoffice X post and it's hard to avoid the conclusion that there is quite a bit of bad faith / trolling going on in addition to genuine preference for X over Mastodon
@SciPolTech @stefan @libreoffice absolutely, and remember that this book apparently needed to exist 10 years ago:

@libreoffice I wanted to ask for years. Is there a simple edition of LibreOffice? "LibreOffice SE"
Or is there a way I can have all the options I don't use or don't understand thrown out?
I would like to pay, perhaps others too. Am happy to contribute a bit to a crowdfunding.
@rrustema @libreoffice is it worth looking at @CollaboraOffice ?
It is open/ms office compatible, has a slightly different interface, and is open source too.

@chewie @libreoffice @CollaboraOffice no need to collaborate and preferably also when internet is weak (in German trains, in tunnels in Switzerland)

@chewie @libreoffice @CollaboraOffice Looks good. But the very first thing I tried failed. I opened a document, copied the contents and tried to paste it into another application. Same document, same move with LibreOffice, no problem.
I think I'll stick to LibreOffice for now, despite the drawbacks.

@libreoffice glad to see y'all getting on the fediverse. Make sure you follow and reply to interesting people, the lack of an algorithmic feed does require a different style of social media use.

@libreoffice That's very good to hear.
Also, the replies to your post there are hilarious and your responses have been spot on.

@libreoffice How about reducing it to zero. We have (or most of us anyway).
