The #LLM craze is one of the most absurd events in the history of computing. There have been other failed products. But not on this crazy scale. And mostly, it hasn't been difficult for the IT industry to argue that their new products are actually better than the ones from five years ago.
Now they're flailing to get us to buy and use a technology that is obviously worse than the old one, which is still available from other brands. I'm typing this on a #linux machine where I work in LibreOffice.
