Kind of like those prosthetic hands which were promoted a while back? I forgot what they were called exactly but their whole thing was open source and 3d printable. -

It requires power which requires weight (batteries) which means it probably wouldn't actually be good for the elderly.
Also, inside a home, it would be constantly knocking things over.
But I'm wondering if runners could run faster if they could lean forward more ... which they could do if they had a tail.
