This is something only UV lasers can do. Their wavelength is so short, they can break molecular bonds directly without heating the material.
It really seems magical

@Mara An ex of mine worked at a laser shop at the time and made an art piece comprised of a rock etched with “art is ephemeral” and a leaf etched with “art is eternal” and I think about it a lot
