What a wonderful photo. The eye is automatically guided to the background by the beautiful foreground and is rewarded with the fantastic mountain massif. Very nicely staged.

An image from some of Scotland's most remote mountains. It's no small feat to get out here, but it's worth it every time.

Made last year when me and Benjamin Maze took a group of awesome clients hiking and wild camping here; we were treated to all manner of brilliant conditions from hail to blue skies. (Join us in September 2026 for the second iteration of our Northwest Highlands photography adventure!)

@murraylivingston Where in Middle-earth did you take this photo. Also, how did you get to Middle-earth.

Also, I just love the atmosphere you manage to convey, in your photos.

@murraylivingston Some of the best times I had were climbing the mountains in Scotland, the more remote the better. So thank you for sharing your photographs and bringing back memories from the past.

@thheine thank you thomas! it took some doing to visually distill the complex foreground but glad to hear that the composition works as intended! 🙂

@murraylivingston I was just wondering if this is somewhere between A830 and A87. Quite some time ago I've climbed a few Munros in this area. Quite remote.
