@henry we need to normalize interviewers asking “are you ok? I’m worried you’re concussed or having a small stroke” when people say nonsense like this.

These companies are being run by people who dropped out of college, never took a biology or history course, stole their companies from smarter people when they discovered they could get a million people to pay a couple dollars for not much on line, and wasted what brain they have playing virtual reality games ever since. When they werent buying and abusing women. We need to totally avoid any bright ideas they have.

@henry I really hope they don’t read this, they could really throw a horseshoe into the order of things.

@kentenmakto @henry I think it's linear, and even zero-based, but it sure looks like some weird log thing doesn't it.
Edit: On the left side. On the right, no idea.

These people vote.

@henry There is some appeal to the thought that if AI can really do all the nasty work, we can all go do fun stuff. But apparently capitalism doesn't work that way...

@jef @henry Damn me, it *is* linear. It's just a) seeing exponential notation in that context is weird and b) when you're graphing growth and, uh, ungrowth, you just expect a semi-log graph.
("Three data points will almost always form a straight line on either a linear, semi-log, or log-log graph. So if you only have one kind of graph paper, you should only take two measurements.")

@henry It's catchy for sure, but honestly this AI bro gives me the impression that he spends way too much time scrolling his X timeline and not enough time getting fresh air.
-
@Doomed_Daniel @jef @henry That might be a viable alternative for AI bros as well.
@phf @Doomed_Daniel @jef @henry I mean, Microsoft brought us "dogfooding" let's just keep this going

@henry They’re posting this specifically to troll and get other people to repost it and do free marketing for their company

@kentenmakto @jef @henry there’s some real chartcrime going on at the bottom of the y-axis scale. I assume it’s just interrupted from zero, but it means the last few datapoints are not clear.
So around 5x reduction on number of horses from peak? That’s actually far less than I’d guess.

@henry there are a similar number or more domestic horses today than there were prior to the advent of cars. If we accept his (ridiculous) assertion that they can ‘do what they want now’, is he suggesting that people who don’t need to go to school or work will have all their needs taken care of?
I mean he has to be saying that right? A domestic horse today is feed, watered, groomed, exercised and provided healthcare (and can do whatever they want apparently).
I’m interested in how the AI tech-bro communists are planning to redistribute their wealth.

@jered @kentenmakto @henry It's not though. I agree it looks janky, and for no reason, but in fact it's just linear.

@jef @jered @kentenmakto @henry Would have been slightly clearer if the 5 x 10^6 was written as 0.5 x 10^7 instead.

@ids1024 @Doomed_Daniel @jef @henry I remember seeing a post by someone that wasn't so far removed. When young people no longer have jobs due to automation, we'll just send them into space.
