@EUCommission these rules don't make safe anyone.

@EUCommission "while ensuring your private messages stay private." That's rich coming from the chat control advocates

-
@EUCommission Content moderation? In private messages? Are you patently insane?
Edit: the moderation is apparently not for private messages, only for "public groups" (whatever the fuck those are).
@elricofmelnibone if you read the link, in the second paragraph it mentions that the designation applies only to the WhatsApp Channels feature.
WhatsApp’s private messaging service enabling users to send text messages, voice notes, photos, videos, documents, and make voice and video calls to other users remains explicitly excluded from the application of the DSA.

@EUCommission Signal or Threema Period @signalapp @threemaapp
@apnoe_soeren @EUCommission @signalapp @threemaapp
why replace one shitty centralized US app that doesn't respect privacy with another?
It's either decentralized with E2E and without identity verification, or it's garbage. -
@frederic TIL whatsapp has public groups.

@elricofmelnibone @EUCommission I believe the original post is entirely intended to show how WhatsApp cannot just be considered a private messaging app anymore
(this is your reminder to buy and use Threema)

@EUCommission Content moderation on a chat application? That looks dangerously as chat control; no government has any reason whatsoever for looking inside the private chats that people have.

My "Very Small Online Platform" (population: me) is on the same boat, hopefully. (If the next elections in my country don't actually wipe the right to privacy, that is, I'm being unfortunately serious)
