A lot of people have been asking us about our plans for the Forkiverse, so here's what I can share: as soon as 500 people log on, we're going to do a big presentation about an opportunity to purchase a time-share

@Casey here in New Zealand we have big need for time share presentations. We need another 3 at least. We also have at least one head of state.

@Casey tech support question: should I not sign up for an account on Forkiverse if I have my main Mastodon already on @taylorlorenz@mastodon.social? When I clicked the Forkiverse link it told me I couldn't see anything until I signed up here so I did, but now I have 2 profiles on Mastodon? Is it better to have 2 profiles or one? ilu!!!!!!
@taylorlorenz Mastodon’s UI is pretty unhelpful in this case. I was able to follow Casey’s (and others’) Forkiverse account from my existing mastodon profile. The fact that mastodon automatically says you need to sign up is confusing IMO, because it ignores the possibility that you have an account on another server

This is a great question from Taylor. My answer is that you should always be Fediversemaxxing. The Forkiverse is my third Fediverse account after Mastodon and Threads and I'm just getting started.
@Casey Counterpoint: if I want to know what's going on in The Forkiverse, I can always go to https://theforkiverse.com/public/local . Otherwise, I'll just follow the people I'm interested in from my main account.

@Casey Ah, but on that site I can't interact. I can only interact if I copy the URL into the search bar of my own instance. Surely there's an easier way to do that.

@Casey why do you think you need lots of fediverse accounts? The whole point is that you are linked to everyone via one account.
(I say that as someone with 4 accounts but there are reasons lol)

@Tattooed_Mummy @Casey a bit of redundancy is fine, but multiple Mastodon accounts seems excessive.
You can also follow Lemmy communities using a Mastodon account. For instance, @procycling - if you're into that thing.
