I don't think the American national security space has really come to terms with the significance of the moment.
We're witnessing the attempt to shift from western liberal democracy dominating the international order to spheres of influence: China, Russia, and the US.

You know more than I do, but it appears to me that there's no way this leads to improved national security for America. It's rejecting your allies for no good reason whatsoever—not even selfish ones.
