Besides the fact that the agent itself is probabilistic & cannot be documented or backtraced, it also requires several infallible systems of exactly the sort we have utterly failed to build throughout all of human history until now.
It also requires good faith & cooperation from every party.
This is a job for a wizard or a god, not engineers & lawyers.

For the record, we've built many systems that work - you know how? Because people make them work when they fail. Even straight-up automation, e.g. the car factory everyone has seen video of, can only run without human intervention for a few hours.
Quite simply, human beings are the stopgap, the failsafe in every system & yet we keep believing people who claim they can build a system that doesn't require humans to run.
It's complete bullshit.

@jwcph if you provide ad agent your credit card credentials, the responsibility is yours. By the way, at least in EU, nearly all online transactions can be cancelled (payng just the return postal fees) within 14 days from the reception of the product. Sure, if you (your AI agent) ordered something roughly the size of a condo, that might still be a problem!
