    My 7-year old, cleaning the playroom with me: Do we have a hot glue gun?
    Me: Yes… why?
    Him: if we glue every object to another object then it’s half as many things to clean up

      @caroline@chaosfem.tw Did you tell him then he'd only have half as many toys? 😉

        @caroline Introduce kiddo to “bins”, and their magical ability to turn “many things” into “one thing”.

            @caroline Priceless. Reminds me of the time I told my four year old she could only bring one stuffed toy with her to the park. She slipped into her closet, shut the door, then emerged a few minutes later with five or six all looped together with a clip into on monster-stuffie.

              @jhaas I’m so pleased that myself and several others in the replies all had the same thought, what a perfect game

              I do have to budget for replacing all the controllers that will be destroyed in frustrated rage though

                    @Driftya I neatly avoided the philosophical issue of what constitutes an object by pointing out that the act of joining things together was “crafting,” and we needed to be “cleaning”

                    there was probably a lesson in there on how optimizing a solution often takes more time than just finishing the problem, but there were crushed goldfish crackers to be vacuumed

                        @caroline@chaosfem.tw

                        Kind of a brilliant solution. Saying that as someone with a slightly older kiddo that loves hot gluing objects together as well.
