    "The White House's flippant response was obviously drafted by someone whose parents failed to teach them the difference between right and wrong. Trying to cover up a lie by describing it as a 'meme' is unworthy of a high schooler—let alone a presidential spokesperson."

      It's. Always. Projection.

      As well as racism.

      THEY are the ones panicking and crying. They cannot break the spirit of this brave Black woman and they cannot break the people's will. They need shitty AI manipulation to pretend they're achieving that.

        The need to lie to defend or promote a cause you purport to be righteous gives away the game — that is, that the cause isn't righteous at all.

          The first photo of the arrest of Nekima Levy Armstrong was posted by Kristi Noem of DHS. A half hour later, the White House posted the second image — taking Noem's image, darkening Armstrong's skin, and making it appear she is crying.

          When asked if it had digitally altered the first image, the White House responded with a tweet by Kaelan Dorr, deputy communications director, stating, "The memes will continue. Thank you for your attention to this matter."

          Well full credit to then for basically admitting they will continue to lie.

            @wdlindsy
            I don't understand the motivation. Is it 'better' to have arrested a darker woman? Does it thrill the Trumpists to see her apparently crying? Is the next step to have Grok strip her too? From the UK the US always looked different but understandable. Now it seems completely unhinged.

              @pthane These memes are red meat for their rabidly racist base. They delight in being able to churn them out and to mock the rest of Americans who find this behavior appalling.

                "The White House digitally altered the image of Armstrong’s arrest to manufacture the appearance of emotional breakdown. There was no disclosure, no indication the photo had been manipulated. It was posted as though it were real, with a caption labeling Armstrong a 'far-left agitator.' Vice President JD Vance amplified it to his own followers."

                    JD Vance who advocates "telling stories" to get his message across. Like the people eating cats in Ohio. Vance is pure evil.

                      Marcy Wheeler notes:

                      "The AI slop the White House released yesterday really embodies what Pam Bondi’s DOJ has become.

                      Bullshit all the way down."

                      She also notes that Bondi went personally to Minnesota to see Nekima Levy Armstrong and others arrested, and the FBI initially arrested the wrong Black woman. And:

                      "The AI slop will make it far easier for [Nekima Levy Armstrong] to argue this is vindictive."
